Hi, I’m Ian (he/they)
My approach to somatic psychotherapy is client-centered and relational, focusing on positive reinforcement, establishing a secure foundations, and cultivating skills for flexible, creative engagement with life. I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Somatics from John F. Kennedy University, and I am a graduate of the Child Therapy Institute. As a somatic movement therapist, I regard our bodies as living, intelligent, aware—deserving of, and responsive to, attention, curiosity, and acceptance. I continue to teach Dynamic Embodiment™ classes in workshop and retreat settings and am deeply influenced by Jungian thought—actively study methods of engaging with the symbolic and transpersonal through movement as well as expressive arts and traditional ways of knowing.
